    Alton,
I guess I don't understand all the history. There must be more discussion on the other CF site. If you have what you think is the original engine in the car then why does the fake engine even exist? It clearly is another block restamped. Where is the fake, in another car? The one you have in your posting (just looking at photos) looks convincing, if that is any comfort to you.

Did not know there was a "list" of know re-stamps held by the NCRS.

You practicing the art of stamping blocks or what?????
Even if one of those are real it has just been recorded as a restamp by half the NCRS judges on the face of the earth! What did you expect??????

What ever became of this discussion? Is the fake block floating around somewhere? Why was it created if the original is in the car?

I don't think there is, but was told that there is a list of people that think there's one.

            Here goes

When I bought the car , it ONLY had the one "original " in the vehicle . Thats how I got the car . I bought the car from a CF member . I looked at his old posts and found these pictures of HIS engines . In his post he claims that he drove the car around awhile with the restamped engine . He then decided to rebuild the Original motor and install it in the car .
I just want to know if the supposedly Original motor is actually original . I don't know what the previous owner did with the fake block .

Here are the numbers of the hopefully original motor . FO913HT cast date looks like I105 cast number 3858174 TRIM tag date is B 10 .

              Alton,
Your cast date and number are in line for your early 66. There are three days spread between cast and machine, not unusual. I have an orphan block that is next day. The stamping just looking at your post also looks ok. So I would feel the car is as built using the info you provided. Does that help you?
