    Assembly Manual diagram not clear

I am unable to read page J281 and J282 of my assembly manual for my 1969 Corvette. These are the pages that show the electrical connections, etc. on the back of the tach and speedo and also the back side of the center cluster. Can anyone send me a copy of these two pages or would that be a violation of some copyright law. I am the legal owner of my AIM and purchased it from a leading parts supplier. All the other pages are easy to read, but for some reason these two pages are not. Thanks.

I think those pages are as you describe in all the copies of the 1969 AIM that are in circulation today. Mine is that way and I purchased mine about 25 years ago.

Thomas, different vendors sell different copies of the AIM and they may not use the same page numbering system. For instance, my AIM shows 281 as the stop light switch and 282 is the parking brake switch.

Please state the UPC number(s) and Sheet number(s) you need since these are the same on all AIM's.

I'm just wanting a clearer picture of this area to see if anything is missing on my car or where everything attaches. Maybe I can contact the vendor where I purchased my Assembly Manual to see if they would send me a page I can actually read.

Re: Assembly Manual diagram not clear

There were/are numerous vendors of Assembly Manuals. Some folks have even managed to get some with the Drafting Graphic Chevrolet Motor Division logo on the top of the page. Chances are good that someone has a better copy of those two pages than you have. As Ed B suggested, you need to tell us the real page(s) you are looking at using the UPC number and sheet identifier in order to have a chance of getting a better copy. I can tell you there are no page numbers like you have cited on the ones from Drafting Graphic, so anyone with a real Chevrolet copy has no idea of what you are looking for.

Well, I can't help you on either one Tom. I'm missing B6 and my B7 is just as crappy as yours! Hopefully someone has a better copy and can scan it in for US!!

I am with the Corvette Caravan to Bowling Green and will not be back home until Sunday 8/31. Send me an email late Sunday or Monday through this board and I will look at my 1969 AIMs (yes I have several) and see what I can do for you. If I depend on my memory it will never happen.

So on a related note, who has the best reprint? I just thumbed through my 69 AIM and it's missing several pages and some have been clipped at the top and you can't read the part numbers. I'm assuming the ones with the Drafting Graphic would be better?

Re: Assembly Manual diagram not clear

The quality of any AIM copy depends on how many times it has been copied and how carefully and on what equipment this was done. I have some AIMs that were made from microfilm originals and they are not always very clear either. I haven't bought an AIM in decades, so I am not in a position to comment on current availability.

Re: Assembly Manual diagram not clear

I think I'm going to order another one through the NCRS STORE.

According to the description at the bottom of the page...

Several decades ago- we purchased our AIM's from a major distributor. As time went on- the distributor made the mistake of making copies of copies of copies. With every new "generation", the manual's quality became worse. We began a long search to locate the best, most complete versions of each manual and those are the ones we now sell.
Hopefully, this one will be better than the one I already have (which is junk)!
