Any dated part that was unique to '73 or was introduced for the '73 model year. For example, we've pretty much given up on finding a 3997770 or 3997771 intake manifold. The number of those cast prior to 8/1/72 is a very, very small number. We still hold some hope of finding a 7043203 carb that is date correct but the chances are we'll never find one. For parts that carried over from '72 - no problem. One of the biggest problems is the low value of these parts. Not many people want to lug around a 40 lb intake for a $20 sale. Finding a good rebuildable 7029215 carb core isn't easy but there is a lot of incentive to anyone who finds one to put some effort into selling it.

I had the opposite problem given the late build of my car.

Yeah, '69 is a year that suffered many changes during the production year. There are some parts that changed 2 and even 3 times. For example a set of early design '69 bright blue (411) seat belts was really hard to find and really, really expensive to acquire. But I suppose it's these challenges that keep the hobby "interesting."
