Okay, couple of Mason Dixon members sent an email to the Chapter that NCRS annual dues went to $45.00!!!!! WTFO!!!!!! When was the membership informed????? I sure as hell do NOT remember anything being mentioned, something along the lines of a STICKY NOTE at least would have been appropriate!!!!!!

I received an email from the webmaster informing me my membership was expiring in a few months. I had read somewhere on this forum rates were going up and that's OK. I have been paying $35 for quite a few years and an increase is not that surprising. The renewal form that came in the email is somewhat confusing as the "message" states the US rate is $45, however where you check the box to indicate 1 or 2 years, it still says $35. I then wondered if renewals are $35 and new memberships are $45. Hopefully someone will clear it up for us. For the quality of The Restorer and Driveline magazines we get, I feel I am getting my money's worth. Chip.Comment

Not saying the xtra $$$$$ are not warranted as has been $35 for years - just saying it would have been NICE to be informed they were going up, like a STICKY NOTE! We have sticky notes for all other things!!!!!!

Well the "greying" of NCRS will continue then. $45 a year for 4 issues of the driveline, which is often 30% show coverage is more than a lot of potential will shell out. Yes, I realize there is a LOT more than the driveline that the NCRS offers. But to be honest, when I was younger, I paid the dues JUST for the magazine as I wasn't in a financial position to go to regional or national events. Raise the rates at your peril!

Some opinions would have a lot more credibility if those voicing them paid attention to the difference between The Corvette Restorer and The Driveline.
And no, I am not being pickey. I can not tell you how many times I received comments about The Driveline when I was Editor of The Restorer. I know Erick Mortimer and Vinnie Peters have similer experiences because we all joke about it. It is just that when one is voicing an opinion in "public" it lends a lot more credibility to your opinion if you have your facts straight.TerryComment

Our chapter membership is $20 always has been and will remain $20. We are non profit. Just as a side note I just renewed my subscription to Hemmings Classic car and Muscle Machines for $12 each, at Carlisle. Also got choice of a FREE hat or T shirt. I'm pretty sure Hemmings is for profit and they still make money at $12.........Comment

IT's about time NCRS raised the National dues guys. Being highly involved in the Pittsburgh chapter let me tell you that it costs a fortune just to mail our flyers. And we are small potatoes. $45.00 is still very affordable. Especially if one drives a ZR1 don't you think.
Our chapter dues have been $20.00 for an eon now. The members reep the benefits as running a chapter is like running a business & $20.00 is just a token.
Never ceases to amaze me that guys with a stable full of Corvettes complain about pennies. True story. Old JDComment

John, I'm with you. I don't even want to think about what I have invested in rolling stock. The $45 is about the best expense that I make and is still less than a fillup at the local station. It's just peoples nature to not spend money. It does not matter how many cars we have. At Carlisle I price parts fairly moderate to cheap and guys always ask to offer less. The dues if offered at a swap meet would get "will you take $??" as a way of paying less than the next guy. Being a cost effective guy I have input into our chapter dues and always elect to keep it the same $20. We save costs other ways such as only e mail news letter. We have a very few old timers without computers that still get hard copy. But that count is only five or six. I would just like dues to stay the same and send something to Wounded Warriors.Comment
