My 69 had an L shaped pieces of metal riveted to the body maybe centered in the rear wheel well. One is gone the other was just floating between the body and frame. What are they and where do I get new ones.

Re: Metal piece on rear of body
A round piece with a eye lid shaped opening pop-riveted to the inboard side of the rear wheel houses?
If so they are shields for the drain openings for the rear vents -- the ones below the rear vent grilles.Terry- Top

Re: Metal piece on rear of body
Okay Terry, that's what they are. It also looks like although my vents are intact they are pretty rusty., and that would make sense. Any Idea where I can get those riveted pieces. I don't see them shown in the vendor catalogs..Thanks Roger- Top

Re: Metal piece on rear of body
Sorry, I have no idea where or even if replacements are available, although they look like simple items for someone to make.
Perhaps someone else has crossed this bridge now that we have identified what they are. Those aluminum pop-rivets don't last too long in contact with the steel shield. Galvanic corrosion does its work quickly.Terry- Top

Re: Metal piece on rear of body
Hi Roger,
They're called out as Shields in the AIM. 3930323
Both Paragon and CC show them in their catalogues along with the drain hoses and fasteners.
