    Fellows,
On a 1963 Powerglide, going to install a new pan gasket/filter (NAPA) and change the fluid? What ATF type should I use and how many quarts will it take? Install gasket dry or ...?

Originally used Type A which was replaced by Dexron, Dexron II and Dexron III. Dexron III would be the current replacement for Type A.
Clean pan flange and apply Permatex, or similar. Apply gasket to pan and install to trans. No sealant on trans side of gasket.
Stock Powerglide calls for 4 quarts without draining the converter.
