Dick Bennett

I am very sad to inform the members of the passing of my good friend Dick Bennett (member #13163) this morning after a battle with cancer. Dick is the former 53-55 National Team Leader, 400 point Master Judge, Founding Member and current Chairman of the Heartland Chapter.

The funeral is Tuesday, August 19 starting at 10 AM at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266.

Very Sorry to hear. I spoke to him at the National Convention last month and he looked great. I was unaware of his declining health. My prayers go out for his family.

I got to know Dick through the Heartland Chapter, he was a very special guy, very caring and unique. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to his wife and family.

Got to know Dick and Lani at the Regional in Rochester, Mn. in 2012. My wife and I enjoyed their company during the weekend. Our prayers are with Lani and family during this difficult time.

Dick and I traded Judges when I was the 1956/7 TL. This is a great loos to our organization. May he rest in peace.

My friendship with Dick and Lani goes back to 1991 when I met them at the SACE (now SACC) National Convention in Springfield,Ill. I also had good times with them at NCRS meets over the years. He often introduced me to other NCRS members. Dick always had some valuable advice for me on C1 restoration tasks and sources for parts. We often shared Minnesota and Iowa jokes. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers for Lani.
