1969 speedmeter cable How long? 427-435 auto

I'm trying to find the correct speedometer cable for my 1969 427-435 auto. I looked up ecklers website for reference and they show 4 speed and auto being the same. I took the one off my other 69 350-350HP 4 speed car and it is way to long. Anyone know the length or the GM part # of the one I need? Thanks, Jeff

    Jeff,
My 1969 Corvette Parts Catalog (Oct. 1969) lists the following in Gr. 4.342:

    SHAFT ASSEMBLY, Speedometer without Casing

    68-69 Corvette (exc. 4-Spd.) ..........6453991..............lower flex
    68-69 Corvette (exc. 4-Spd.)...........6476534..............upper flex
    69 Corvette (exc. 4-Spd.)................6477297..............(37 7/16") upper flex
    69 Corvette w/4-Spd.......................6477309..............(67 7/16")

    SHAFT ASSEMBLY with Casing
    68-69 Corvette (exc. 4-Spd.)..........6454481.......lower flex. (CC-291)(24 3/4" O.L.)
    69 Corvette (exc. 4-Spd.)...............6477533.......upper
    69 Corvette w/4-Spd......................6477864.......flex. quick disconnect (72")

GM # 6477533 was replaced with GM # 6478171 (for models requiring length 41" to 44" shaft").

These are service parts and may not be the same as assembly line parts. What is the part number in the 1969 Corvette AIM?

    Dave

      Dave------

GM #6477533 went through a series of part number changes and is currently known as GM #88959472.

GM #6455481 was discontinued without supercession in January, 1971.

I don't think the speedometer cable for 1969 applications with M-40 is shown in the AIM.
