C2 License Center Bar Fit?

Is there supposed to be a gap on the upper side of the bumper slot when the center bar is bolted in place?

It appears to be flush at the bottom but has a significant gap (around 1/4") at the top where the center bar fits into the front bumper "U" shaped slots.

if it is a repro center bar , you will have a gap. doesn't seam like repros are made quite correct

Ralph,

If you do have a repro center bar, try shimming it up so it fits closere to the top portion of the "U" shaped slot in each bumper. I have used front end alignment shims and cut off the tab so it can't be seen. Place them under the verticle center bar bolts. It won't be perfect or take up all the gap but should improve it.
