Tim,The timing light you have now will be more than sufficient to set the timing advance at idle and judge if your correction of the drive gear worked. To chart your timing at higher engine speeds / varying vacuum conditions you will need either that new dial back timing light or add timing marks to your harmonic damper. As you are just beginning this adventure simply removing the distributor, correcting the gear and perhaps re-clocking the plug wire assignments will be a good manageable first project.Chris
