    63 wheel cylinder removal

I'm trying to remove the pin that holds on the front brake wheel cylinder on one of my 63s. It doesn't want to come loose, not even with several days worth of spraying with PB Blaster. Anyone got any ideas?

Mike that bolt has a pretty big Diameter and a deep socket with a long breaker bar should work, and if you have a small compressor and a impact gun try that. Also there maybe a retainer tab that is bent over to lock the bolt.

Harry, its the spring retaining pin, the one that goes through the mounting hole in the cylinder and threads into the spindle. The pin has a hex and threads too, so I suppose some may call it a bolt.

Edward, already tried a breaker bar with a "cheater" pipe, also an impact gun at our building's full air pressure. No luck...

I may go to a gun store and get some Kroil...I've read here that its better than PB Blaster

Mike, sounds like heat will be the only thing left, not sure that any penetrant would work. Penetrant is not always a cure all. a lot of people here swear by it. I have tried them all over the years. the best stuff I have ever used is heat riser penetrant that GM use to make years ago. also mopar had the same stuff.

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid using heat while the assembly is still on the car, but I certainly don't want to take the knuckle off.

                Harry, Here's where its used

With a little Kroil and and bigger impact wrench, I got the pin/bolt off. Now the hex corners are pretty well messed up. (see pic) I'm wondering where the heck I get one of these (in good shape). Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks, Gary, assuming that the other side will be just as tough, I ordered two...
