'65 lower valance panel - original?

As far as I know my '65 Convertible was involved in a frontal accident with a pedestrian - long ago (early 70ies). Today I've had a look at the lower valence panel top down between open hood and front. The color of it is grey (texture is smooth) and on the passenger side there is a raised number (2771 - 1/2 inch high digits). Now I'm interested if this is / could be an original panel or a replacement.

Oliver, It sounds like you have original glass as the 65's did have a lt. gray panels. I Really not sure how many aftermarket panel makers were around in the 70's. GM did use raised numbers on there panels.
