Is there any way to disassemble and repair an original 67 horn. It made a sickly squak and now no sound. The electrical resistance is extremely high so there is probably a discontinuity in the coil. The replacements are apparently plastic which would be a big difference in appearance. Do other GM cars of the era have the same horn?

Re: C2 Horns
It's a lot simpler to send it to Gary at the Horn Works (www.classiccarhorns.com) or to Joe Perri in Chicago - either way, it'll come back working, correct, and ready to bolt on. The "DIY-at-home" horn rebuild kits are notoriously unsuccessful.- Top

Re: C2 Horns
I agree.
I duplicated the waffle rivets as well.
The key, I believe, is to make sure that the two halves are dead flat, otherwise the diaphragm will deform and not vibrate.- Top
