I sent my survivor clock and Tachometer to D&M Restorations. They were to clear over the original numbers dates and cadmium plating . I went over this several times with them. When I got them back they had taped over the ink stampings and then bead blasted the cans. . Then they spray painted the cans. When they pulled the tape off it pulled the number off. .They had the original plating around the numbers the rest was spray paint. Looked horrible .See pictures. The clock did not work and they used the same old cracked bushing around the terminals. They painted over the needle and inside of the cans right over the old peeling paint. The tachometer made noise and the bounced around. Charged me close to $700.00. I contacted them and they had no way to replate the cans or stamp the numbers and dates on. I then sent them to Ricks Restoration. Not the one on TV. He did a beautiful job. See pictures. They offered no help and when I confronted them on any issue Patrick was going to talk to the NEW owner and then did not respond Back.
So I filed a claim with VISA. After many forms, Emails and telephone calls to supervisors the dispute was denied. VISA has a STRICK policy if you have any service work done and do not have a written estimate describing the work to be performed they will give NO help. Visa now has hired a third party company to handle disputes. I am sure there numbers are looking a lot better.
