Re: Flywheel 1962 340 hp 4 spd
That is exactly correct.
In fact, ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 55-62 Chevrolet V8 engines ONLY had the 14in/168 teeth flywheel. MOST cars had a bolt pattern for a 10in clutch (they were 10in back then, but now they are 10 1/2in). But SOME cars (such as taxi and police cars) had a bolt pattern for an 11in clutch and many trucks also had 11in clutches. In 63, the smaller, 153 teeth flywheel was introduced which ONLY had a bolt pattern for a 10 1/2in clutch.- Top

Re: Flywheel 1962 340 hp 4 spd
My 1963 Chev. parts Catalog (Oct. 1962) list GM # 3739423 as the GM part number for the flywheel for 55-62 Corvettes (8 cyl.) (2nd Design)(exc. P.G.) with the following description "w/10" coil and diaphragm spring clutch (11 5/8 bolt circle)(cast 3729004)".
GM # 3739423 was replaced with GM # 3986390 in Dec. 1971.
