Meet smart phone and tablet app

I was at the Mecum auction yesterday and met a guy who showed me his company's app which I installed on my iPhone and iPad. It purports to give a good evaluation of what vintage corvette are worth in what he called the retail market. I have no affiliation or other interest and I personally make no claims about its accuracy. But I think it's sort of a neat app.

i believe he said it ran on Android devices also. I got it from the Apple App Store and the app is CorvetteDNA, all one word.

Downloaded the app. It works pretty slick. I like it. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the info. I wonder where the data comes from? I put my car in and it came back with $163,350. I think that's high by quite a bit.

I asked the guy that question and I can't remember his exact comments, but I think most of their pricing info comes from auctions.

The second car I put in turned up a mistake. It wouldn't allow a 1973 L82 air, auto, car to have 3:55 gears. I bought the car new and have a copy of dealer inv as well as build sheet. It also valued a 66 base motor auto with fresh resto at $116,000.00

I did both of my cars.

1975 coupe, excellent condition, L82, 4-speed close ratio, tilt/tele, 3.55 rears, power brakes, power steering. $16,500. Overall, I think that is a number I'd agree with. Some of the options added no value (tilt/tele, 3.55 gears, power brakes, power steering) which surprised me. Yet, the 4-speed added $5,000 and the L82 added $2,000.

1969 coupe, driver condition, L46, M20, AC, TI ignition, tilt/tele, 3.36 gears, power steering. $31,500. This is ridiculously high. I would not pay anyone for an L46 coupe into the $30K range that is in driver condition. In this checklist, power steering did add $1,000.

Also looking at the options for 1969, an L68 is only worth $5,000 more than an L36, no matter what the condition is.

Of course, most of us here tend to look towards completeness, especially when it comes to an original motor. This is not factored into the equation either.

I'm not going to complain if someone approaches me with this app and offers to buy my car, but using this is basically like referring to NADA values. Fairly worthless.
