    My '66 restoration - Laguna Blue - Let's start a fire!

Well, I said a long time ago that I'm convinced the new paints are not always correct. After pains taking effort and use of my '78 repaint Dupont Laguna Blue lacquer as a sample, my car is now base coat, clear coat with what I BELIEVE to be correct.

Let see if I have started a fire!

    Georges,

Correct or not your Corvette is Beautiful and if that's the way you want it, it's nobody's business what color or paint you use! And 95% of NCRS members will agree!!!!!

Sun plays funny games with colors, as do pictures, but as JR stated...beautiful Corvette. I'm sure you can hardly wait to get it all back together so you can truly start enjoying it. Congratulations on the progress.

I have been around this car since 1968 when my best friend owned the car as original Laguana Blue w Bright Blue interior. When I purchased in 1976 it was sitting in the garage on blocks, painted silver, with a 1965 396/425. I did a complete mechanical restore over the next 2-3 years but put a 1970 LT1 engine in it - WHO KNEW back then. The repaint in '79 or '80 was back to the original Laguna Blue, but I did the interior in black. The Laguna Blue is an unusual color in that it can and Does look: dark blue, emerald green, blackberry - just depends on time of day and lighting. While I am doing complete restoration - Correct L36 427 - and my original parts or new, I am going to drive this car.
Just love to read all the NCRS 'judged' comments. While I have been following the manuals, I will say that this has added to an escalation of cost as I have watched many parts SKY ROCKET in Price since I started in July 2013. I equate Sky Rocket to the following example: New Grille in July '13 catalog= $685, purchased last week = $850.

            Georges,
I went the same route and the only problem I see is getting to it when it's shown. You will have to get thru the crowd that is admiring it.

Sorry, but that's not a "sky rocket", that's gouging.
