I borrowed a friends (we believe ) original 396 air cleaner lid . It is completely black on the underside , has the correct instructions , outer lip , & inner carb stud lip . He also has a repro. (we think) lid . I weighed the original 396 lid it weighed 1 1/2 lbsDSC_1471.jpgDSC_1475.jpgDSC_1478.jpgDSC_1476.jpg (on a kitchen scale ) I also weighed my original chrome 70 350/350 lid it weighed 1lb 9 oz. Can some one with a known orig lid please weigh it . & if you have a repro I would like to know its weight .

Re: More on 396 air cleaner lids
Bill,
I used Richard Fortier earlier this year to paint and apply the AC silk screening on the bottom. It looks great and has not taken a deductions at the recent chapter, regional and national level judging events. I'll get you some pictures and send them to you.
Regards,
James West
