    1969 BB Fan Noise

    My 69 makes seems to make a lot of fan noise. I have an aftermarket fan clutch which is a little larger in OD than factory orig. I believe the fan is factory. This is a freshly restored car. Any thoughts on this?

      Do you have the correct asymmetrical fan? If your fan is by chance symmetrical, it will howl like a turbo prop.


      stupid me, I need to read better. Factory fan. Sorry about that.

          yes, blade spacing is asymmetrical.

              Herb, Some fan noise is normal, when started in the AM sometimes for a minute or two the fan will sound like a turbo prop. If your hearing any longer than that Your fan clutch may be defective or just the wrong one.

                  Keep this in mind: generally, the more noise it makes, the more air it is pulling. This can be a good thing with Corvettes.
