Re: Alternator Pulley needs cleaning
Gerald,
The pulley should be steel with a zinc plating. What is on the pulley that needs cleaning, road grime, rust, corrosion? Maybe is the plating wearing off? If the later it needs to be replated.- Top

Re: Alternator Pulley needs cleaning
Clean with Simple Green, and then lacquer thinner. Then polish with a product called Rub and Buff, sold at Michael's Craft shop. It is the easiest way to brighten up a tarnished cad or Zink plating. A very little goes a long way, as you will see.. Q-tips or cotton balls are what I used on my windshield washer motor, hood hard ware and an assortment of bolts and other items. Comes in silver, gold and black. Good luck....- Top

Re: Alternator Pulley needs cleaning
Jerry,
If that's a original pulley I would always use that instead of any reproduction part. Get the silver rub and buff and give it a try, you will be surprised.- Top
