I am setting up a 69 Corvette 427/400 for flight judging. The carburetor number are not correct and the judging manual does not seem to be clear about point deductions. Are the points for incorrect number carbs tripled or counted as a single carburetor? In other words if all 3 carbs are not the correct numbers does the judge deduct 3x the points or do they deduct the same as a single 4 bbl carb such as on a 427/390? Thanks

Re: Question on flight judging 69 Tri power
Melvin, Take the allotted points for the carburetor and do the CDCIF, I would take the date is 20% and If there is any sort of configuration difference that's another 20% 3 carbs or 1 should be the same deduction, I think the only thing is if two carburetors are correct and one is not, it can be divided by three. If there is any else that is not right say with the installation of the carbs. that would be another 20%. So you can get some sort of idea as to what to look for. I know that these carburetors are not cheap so the deduction may not be worth it. I would work toward the operations side to make sure everything works as suppose to, as with each item (s) that do not work are worth much more than your carburetor(s).New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
