Some what off-topic but still GM cars

Looking at replacing front struts on possibly 2 discontinued GM vehicles-Pontiac and Saturn. Primarily for comfort plus mileage on vehicles. Online source list 3 manufacturers-Monrore-$59, KYB-$67 and Delco-$83 and Delco GM Original Equipment for $146!!! Any and all opinions/recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Need to order in the immediate future. Thank you, Jack J.

Jack after market suppliers like Monroe will have different qualities If you choose Monroe make sure to get there top line. I believe they are a lifetime warrenty also. KYB is another quality manufacturer. Delco is just a reboxer these days so your paying more for the same product which is likely Monroe with there own labels.

Thanks Ed for your input. Now I need to decide which is better between the two ( Monroe or KYB) ? The KYB's are $30.00 more, a rather small amount. Considering the OE originals have abut 83K on them, the replacement struts should last until it's time for a new car-some time down the road. Again, any and all opinions appreciated! Thanks, Jack J.

If you look on the ACDelco website you can often find original equipment part numbers. I then take these and check Rock Auto, Amazon, Google, etc for real world prices. Doing so I often find the original equipment pieces for not a lot more money than aftermarket. Please note that I'm referring to original equipment pieces, not the ACDelco replacement pieces, which are almost useless in comparison.

Thanks Pat for your reply. Rock's website lists GM Original Equipment struts at $79.00 to $88.00 OVER the KYB or Monroe struts at $67.00 and $58.00 respectively. Obviously a HUGE difference in price!!! Just looking for the best for the price. Doing the work myself as a satisfying challenge, having done 1 other GM car in the past. Jack J.
