C1 leaf spring liners

Years ago the only repro spring liners available were white fabric webbing material with metal tips. However, all the 53-55 cars I've had needed the wax impregnated fiberboard liners. Fortunately they later became available.

Now my question: Are the white webbing liners correct for any car? If so which years?

I was surprised to recently see them on a restored 55.

I don't believe the plain white non-waxed cotton liners were used on any Corvette. Every one I've ever worked on were the waxed type. A few years ago a cost conscious owner of a '59 didn't want to "spring" for the high cost a correct groove-tab waxed set. I reluctantly used the white cotton metal tipped type. They look terrible. They will also wear out quickly IMO. I'd bet the '55 owner cheaped out like the '59 guy did.

I recently rebuilt a set of grooved springs and used the reproduction waxed liners. Pricey, but very close to the originals I removed.
