The vins for the few Chevelle and Impala engines that were vin stamped (409, 427, 396-375, some early 327s) were mostly stamped with individual hand stamps until about 1967.

      Patrick,

Please give us your evaluation of this stamp. I seem to be the only one that says it could be original. From the amount of rust and damage I think it might be original.

      Thanks,

      JR

I always hesitate to do this, but here it goes. Broach, assembly stamp and VIN are all clearly not correct.

Has to be one of the worst I've seen this year....The restamper didn't even take the time to educate himself on what it's supposed to look like. Bubba's sister hit the moonshine for an hour or two before she whacked that pad.....ARA

Joe, this is not original. No 67 Corvette VIN was stamped with individual 3/16" stamps, and several of the Tonowanda characters are not right either.

                  Patrick,

Thanks for the evaluation! I'm going with the rest now!
