1969 seat belt warning light won't turn off

I'm putting the dash and center cluster in my 69. All gauges are working including the seat belt warning light. Problem is it won't turn off when I push the button. I took it back apart to make sure it was making contact with the switch to brake the contact. It is pushing the switch to brake the contact and still the light does not go out. It has an original circuit board and an aftermarket push button. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks, Jeff

I got it fixed. I had the power wire from the fuel gauge on the wrong terminal of the seat belt switch. Fixed and moving on!!

I know I am a few years late, but I am having the same problem with my 69 seat belt light. It will not go off when I push the button. Do you remember which of the fuel gauge terminals you connected too? Top or Bottom? My bulb burns and the relay works.

Here is a pic of this board in place in the cluster.I am not sure if the black wire going to the fuel gauge is attached to the correct terminal. I suppose this is the power supply for the light and the relay. I am not sure if there is more than one ground. Maybe one for the light and one for the relay. The screw at the bottom center of the board is probably the ground for the light. This screw goes into the metal part of the cluster. My problem might be solved if I just quit trying to bench test this circuit and just put everything back in place in the car and see if it works. I realize there is little information about this device and I cannot find it on any wiring diagram. It seems to be a simple device but has a tricky wiring circuit. I have read some or all of the other posts concerning this device but I am still confused. From what I can gather this simple warning light which has to be turned off manually was only used on 68, 69, 70 cars and has nothing to do with the seat belt being fastened. It is simply a reminder and it was effective. Thanks for any information anyone can provide.

Here are the last two pics I have. Maybe these can be of use to someone.
