    Hi FriendsIs someone able to tell me what type of Screws I shall use to hold down the Tank Compartment Cover?....and is it possible to find a dealer who sells Softtop in black Canvas to a 1959?RegardsJorn

    I believe the tank cover screws are phillips pan head sheet metal screws, about #10. Al Knoch will make you a top with black Haartz Stayfast canvas.

            Believe it or not, there were variations of the screw head types and washers used from '56 to '62. A look at those years' AIMS will show it.

            Also note that there are also Phillips head 10-24 machine screws used on the forward section as they pass into threaded holes in the horizontal reinforcement, some with weld nuts, and IIRC early C1's use self tapping screws as there are no nut plates, just the thickness of the reinforcement bar. Be careful of those outer front corner positions too. The screws in the kits may not be long enough to reach, and if you use ones that are too long, they can hit the fuel tank in the corners.
