I still think that's way to high. I just let go of a red/red 400 Bow Tie, Benchmark with 22,000 miles for a number like that.

The google link has a photo which shows a huge number of shims in the upper control arm. This may be a sign of alignment problems and a previous accident or something being bent.

Tim, thanks for the answer. When you/anybody read the Ebay documentation, I think all Information is included.

File includes engine pad, tank sticker, awards photos etc. Car is apparently, per tank sticker, an original side exhaust car came with hardtop option, rally wheels, green/green (vinyl), radio, white soft top, transistor ignition equipment, headrest seats, L68 (400hp) option, 3.70 positraction, tinted glass. Body build date of Jan 18, 1967, VIN birthday calculator gives date of Jan 19, 1967, so that lines up fine.
Donald the description in regard to the RPO Code differs from the invoice. Power Brakes in the code, but Close Ratio gearing in the invoice? What is correct?

The RPO code listing in the auction data is not an official document, it is just the verbiage the seller typed up for eBay. The bible for that car regarding original equipment is the Tank Sticker, which (if it is verified original and real, which some opinion in this thread suggests it may well be) shows the car did not have power brakes (RPO J50) when built. The "close ratio" you refer to is actually part of the description for RPO M21, which this car does have, which is "4 speed manual transmission close ratio." Similarly, the car as it is seen in the eBay auction documents, shows installation of power steering (RPO N40) which it also did not have when built, according to the tank sticker. This is not at all uncommon that owners will add options, such as power steering and power brakes. That would seem to be the case here. This is no way mitigates the Top Flight Awards listed, the NCRS judges evaluate the car "as presented" and do not see the tank sticker usually, so they would not know necessarily that the car did not originally have N40 and J50. There are ways to tell, especially for power brakes, that the option was added later, several easy to find clues, like the manual brake spring left behind in the pedal assembly, and the nature of the fasteners of the power brake plate to the firewall etc. Exactly how the car is presented today is not clear at present. What is known is that if the tank sticker is real, the car did not originally have power brakes or steering

As the owner of a 67 L-71 which I have been restoring at a leaurely pace, I wish L-71s were that valuable but I don't think that is the case. L-68s are actually less common (2101 versus 3754 produced). L-71s probably bring a little more, but I don't think the differential is that great. Actually, the 3X2 bbl setup is a real pain to keep running well. Having the end carbs close fully for a steady idle is a problem, and they also seem more prone to leaking when parked on a hill (creating the danger of hydraulic lock). To be honest the best driving 67 big block I ever had was a L-36 with an original engine that had somehow acquired a quadrajet carb and manifold (with a cast date strangely matching the car perfectly). I'm sure that even with a correct small Holley 4 bbl, it would have been a sweet driver.
