Currently I have my speedometer cable routed on the backside of the emergency brake cable (up against the firewall) but I am not sure this is correct. My car does have a pg transmission and factory ac. This cable appears pretty tight and I could route it either way and have it forward of the e-brake cable on the cowl . I assume it is the original since it is the gray housing vice black one. Anyone know for sure which side of the emergency brake housing/cable it should be; behind or in front ? Thanks in advance.

If you don't get a response by Saturday, and a 63 is the same, I will probably see a auto car at the Golden Super Cruise and can take a photo for you. It is a 300 horse 63 with powerglide. It's a good life!

Re: 65 Speedometer Cable with Automatic Transmission
My restored 66 PG speedo cable comes out of the F/W to the left of the distributor cap (about 10 inches) and about the same height as the top of the distributor cap. From there it curves downward about at the top center of the transmission past the kick down mounted at the trans to engine bolts and into the LH side of the tranny. It isn't any where near the emergency brake cable where the cable comes out of the fire wall.- Top

Re: 65 Speedometer Cable with Automatic Transmission
The hole in the fire wall for the speedo cable and the hole in the fire wall for the emergency brake cable aren't even in the same area so No the speedo cable does not go behind the e.b. cable.- Top
