I have as of this time not received any response to my request for the pad photo.

Gentlemen,if I may say so, as have not seen a Lawdy respond. May I say thanks to all of you. This was very valuable Information, albeit I would have wished for a more positive Response. In any regard you do have saved me a lot of trouble, thus thanks again.Martin

P.S. if any of you has a true original big block 167 convertible with papers that do not come from a 2014 Printer to sell, I am very interested. I'd consider a 327/350 or 365 and perhaps a 427/390.

Martin, be patient and I guarantee you that you will find a real car. While you may be disappointed in the response that the car in question received, just think about how you would have felt if you asked these questions after you purchased it. I have seen that happen far too many times and its not a pretty sight. Send me a PM, I know of a car that you may be interested in.

Steve, I am very happy abput the Responses, as it saved me lots of Trouble, I just retracted my bid on Ebay, but I admit I am troubled that not only paperwork is allegedly faked, but bluntly used to sell the car only. I call that gutsy and yes, I will patiently wait, this was a lesson!

It's funny but I started a post around so many of these high dollar cars being fakes and that we as NCRS members should continue to help potential buyers.
Please keep in mind, There is nothing and I mean nothing that can not be created well enough to fool the most diverse/educated corvette person. I have seen it personally myself. I personally know of one BB high dollar car that has changed color, has tank sticker, POP, top flight awards, all the dealer paper work NOW >> funny it didn't have any of that in the 70's

Sold for 100K plus Change. Very littel if the car was real, lots of Money if what most of you suspect is the case.

I had to talk a local friend out of buying a car over the weekend that had a motor that was clearly a restamp. That's not a horrible thing, but the car was not priced or represented as such.

There wasn't a word of description on the car. The sales invoice lists the address as corner of Ash Ave and B St. There is no Ash avenue in Newton NC but there is an Ashe. Red color on invoice has bled. Was someone soaking the paper to age it? Tank sticker and sheet #7 have issues, trim tag looks odd. It looks like it has 1966 headrests. Wrong master cylinder.
It may be a real car, but there are questions that would need to be answered.
Very nice looking and none of this matters to a lot of people anyhow.

Well Gentlemenn it sold on Ebay for the 100K plus change and it is back on sale at the store which was selling it on Ebay? Wonder why it sold without reserve and why it is still available?

I'm guessing it didn't really sell. As Tim stated, we looked at this car a while back. I agree that you passing on this one was good. Hang in there, took me about a year to find mine. If you want to get together and talk cars let me know.
