I am preparing to do some repairs on the paint on a 53 Vette. My concern is retaining the mat texture on the repair areas. This is a very low mileage car that was restored in the mid 90's and has several cracks in the lacquer. If anyone has any details on what steps I need to take to keep the correct look of the finished paint I would appreciate the info. I have over 30 years experience restoring classic cars, including Corvettes, but this is the first 53 I have worked on. Thanks, Doug

Re: Info needed on 53 Vette paint
Steve, I have a spray out panel I painted after tinting the color that looks very good in the shop and in the sun so I feel pretty confident at this point. If it isn't on the money then I may have to blend on the quarters. The paint on the rest of the car looks pretty good for nearly 20 years old. It hasn't been out much, only 149 original miles.- Top
