    1990 ZR1 Tachometer Calibration

Does anyone know what it would take to get the tach in my 1990 ZR1 from registering much higher than normal? Is kind of hard to have fun when you see the tach registering 8000 when you know that you're only going about 5000. Is there a part that can be replaced or do I need to have it sent off?

If you're not a member of the zr1netregistry, you should be. I remember a thread about this topic there

This is a common problem with the early (and possibly all) C4 Zr1's. As I recall there is a resistor that degrades over time that causes this. It can be fixed but gets pretty involved and takes some trial and error. James' suggestion is right on. You will find many threads on the ZR1 Registry TDB on this subject.
