OK, not all repro parts fit well. I am trying bring a BABA job to original. Bought a 340 hp fuel line kit, correct fuel filter and rebuilt and installed correct AFB. The whole deal fits together but not well. Before I start trying to make it fit I would love some comments. Thanks012.jpg014.jpg015.jpg

Re: 1963 340HP fuel lines
Jeff,
You have done a great job on your 63 and the fuel line fits pretty darn good but after you place the filter bracket on the intake everything will fall into place. Also, if the fuel line from the pump to the filter doesn't move forward and away from the head you should move it to the front. The heat from the head will cause some problems if the fuel line touches the head. You just need a half inch for it to stay cool.
Post some more pics as you finish the restoration. Looks good!

Jeff, I am with Mike try flipping the line on the upper, I brought a corvette central fuel line kit for my 63shp motor and no fitment issues. I would also leave all fittings loose until you have positioned the best possible.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1963 340HP fuel lines
The set of '63 FI or 340 HP fuel lines being sold today are a generic part. Sorta like Chevy in the old days. One that fits all.
The 63 '4657 pump to the fuel line is all on it's own. The '64-65 fuel is longer I believe.
JeffAt the present time I don't think any of the repro catalogs sell the proper '63 line. They used to have two line kits. One for the '63 and one for the later. No more.
The only way you can use the '64-65 line is to massage it with nice dead blow hammer.
When my 63 was being re-restored I supplied "NOS" fuel lines for the FI unit. Neither line would fit like the old ones. The FI to filter line was 1/2" too long. The bend where it goes into the inlet fitting on the FI unit wasn't even close. And I told you about the other line.
If you have an old original 63 pump to filter line by all means get it rechromed or use it as is. These are rare lines today. John- Top

What is the purpose of the long-hex stud at the upper RH water pump attachment? It should be an ordinary bolt.- Top

Re: 1963 340HP fuel lines
That particular stud should be located on the bottom left side (drivers side) of water pump. I refer to it as the adjusting stud for the idler pulley. You are correct, typically bolt at other location.- Top
