    Reverb Units

    Sorry if this seems a little off base, but I am checking all sources. Has anyone had and/or knows where I could find an old reverberator unit for a car stereo?

    I have a Custom Auto Sound unit in my car, and the thought came to me how installing a reverberator might enhance my sound system.

    There are only two (2) things I won't compromise when it comes to enjoying my 63 Vette;

    1) my sound system (I like my music!)

    2) my electronic ignition system (I want a good running and dependable car).

    Hey, Stu,

    Many years ago I installed and later took out a reverbation unit for my car radio. It's still in the attic, I think. It was not anything real expensive but was still working fine when I removed it.

    If interested, I can try to locate it and see if it might be something you can use.

      I had a 65 Gran Prix with the reverbation radio option - you may want to check any outfits that deal in old Pontiac Parts? Good luck.

        Thanks for the responses guys.

        Larry; I would certainly be interested in your unit if you are able to locate it. Send me a pm if you do and we'll work out the details.

        Ed; Thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware that they were offered as an option by anyone.

          Stu,

          Located the reverbation unit in the attic. It's a Motorola R200 that I purchased and installed back in the late 60s early 70s. In my 1962 hardtop only car, I mounted the unit in area where the soft top would normally store since there was no room under the dash. Had to some some re-wiring and didn't do a very good job but it worked fine for many years. Was still working when I took it out.

          The unit measures 10" long, 3.5" wide and 3.5" high and has an externally wired switch for mounting under the dash of some cars.

          Send PM if you have questions.
