Holley 4801 or is it a Holley 4801-1

I am trying to determine the proper PN for my 71 LT1. Is it a Holley 4801 or a 4801-1. I know the Chevrolet number is 3989021. I appreciate the help.

Depends when your car was assembled. The early (and no I can not define that term in this context) was LIST 4801 and later was LIST 4801-1. I would suggest you let the date code on the carburetor give you the proper answer -- assUming you believe the date code and/or List numbers have not been altered.

Edit add: Why are you not interested in a LIST 4801A?

The Holley part number change seems to correspond to an April revision of the carburetor. It's likely that '71 LT-1's produced after April 1971 could likely be equipped with a 4801-1 carb.
