I am restoring my '66 427 roadster and while keeping all the original parts that are fitting for appearance sake (body/frame off), I am replacing some items with new parts also. There are no new rocker panel moldings available so I have cleaned, waxed aluminum, repainted the black inserts. Can the bright aluminum be somewhat buffed to remove small scratches or do I risk making it too bright or ruining the original brushed appearance???i

George, The rocker mouldings are a anodized finish and generally don't polish, about the only thing that can be done is use some steel wool to clean up, you'll find the finish is very durable, and buy the finest grade you can purchase.You'll find that scratches and stone marks do not come out.They can be refinished but costs are high on the re-anodizing.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
