C-3 1968 Center Gauge Cluster - Seat Belt

I am trying to determine how the Seat Belt Warning "Push Button" System for a 1968 is wired. I am trying to piece together some wiring, and when I rmoved the Center Instrument Cluster, there was no light or light socket leading into the Seat Belt Waring lamp area. I could not find a wire coming from the wiring harness that was missing. Exactly, .... how is the lamp wired???
    Thanks,
    Steve

Should be identical to my '71.... The switch assy has a printed circuit board containing a latching relay with the latch 'trigger' tied to the PUSH button. When you insert key in ignition and feed power to the instrument cluster, the relay is normally closed and supplies power to illuminate the warning lamp.

When you push the PUSH button, the relay's trigger makes contact with B+, which does two functions: (1) open circuits the main relay to extinguish the warning lamp, and (2) ties the relay trigger to B+ causing the relay to REMAIN open circuited until system power is removed via ignition switch turn-off. Essentially, it's an electro-mechanical 'one shot' circuit.

The Assembly Instruction Manual was where I looked for the specific wire colors in fixing this on my 70. Have you checked the bulb to see that it works ? Another resource is the wiring diagram in the repair manual if you have one. There is a C3 wiring diagram currently being bid on on E-bay if you don't have one.

      Happy hunting.
