    C3 CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT????

I am trying to adjust my clutch for more freeplay, It catches right at the top and i hear a little rattle in the throw out bearing while driving down the road, this goes away if i just touch the clutch pedal.

QUESTION- do i adjust the clutch by moving the nuts toward the front of the car or back to the firewall? Also, about how much adjustment is there. it is cold in the garage and i want to make this as quick and painless as possible

If you have no free play, take the nuts toward the firewall.

      Jeff -

You want to end up with about an inch of free play between the pedal in fully "up" position against the rubber bumper and the point where you feel resistance from the throwout bearing when depressing the pedal. Make sure your return spring is pulling the pedal back up against the bumper.
