What is the best source for searching the title for previous owners of my 63 vette? I live in Maryland and can trace the title back to 1970 but thats where the search ends because the title goes out of state.

You mean it came IN from out-of-state
Maryland should have a record in their files of that old title. -

When I title searched my 1963 Corvette, the current state dept. of motor vehicles provided copies of titles back to when it entered the state. I then had to start all over again with the prior state dept. of motor vehicles, going back to when it entered that state...and so forth and so on...The only problem I could be faced with would be if the car had been stolen, then I risk losing my treasure.Comment

Hey Tim. If you got the stuff from the MD DMV in Glen Burnie, you should find a copy of the out of state title used when the car was brought to Maryland. That should point you in the right direction. I've gotten title records for several guys over the years, and in each case, there was an out of state title. If you don't have it, go back to Glen Burnie and ask them to pull the stuff again.
