Noland used my 67 serial number in 1987 at Bend Or. and found that G.M did pass through 35 Corvettes with the small block engine. Any-one know the number of vetts still out there that have a hood like mine with the small engine?? or has one??

Re: 67 BB hood
Roy,
Could you tell me what your serial number is? I suspect mine originally came with a BB hood based upon the info in Noland Adam's book. It was built during that timeframe and I have a small block hood but the hood support is on the driver's side.

Re: 67 BB hood
My 67 was built in March and has a SB hood with the hood support on the LH side. I am a bit suspicious that the hood has been changed due to differences in the hood fiberglass and the fiberglass in the rest of the car. What is the time frame and serial# range for these alleged 35 cars?- Top

Re: 67 BB hood S#
Noland saw my 67 at Bend Or. years ago and knowing I new it was original, checked it out with G.M and found that they did pass 35 Corvettes through the plant. He wrote articals in a number of Mags.Useing my #12345.March vett, that gave my Corvette documemtation. Now where my number is?? going back to #12311 or forward to #12379 I don't know. Some one ask Noland! The fiberglass hood is different on mine.Seems NCRS knows it too.- Top

Re: 67 BB hood Nick
Roy,
I don't think we can go forward or backwards just 35 numbers. What we don't know is how many BBs there are spread among the 35 SBs that had a BB hood.
About 42% of 67 production was 427s. Taking that as an average it would mean a swing of 60-65 either way.
What doesn't compute to me is that I seem to recall Noland's book saying that BB hoods were used for a few days. At that time they were averaging around 100 cars a day. That serial number range is less than a day! I have sent email to Noland.
