Re: C1 Generator Origin
Richard------
Generator GM #1102096 was used for truck applications from 1958 to 1962 on certain 283, 327 and 348 V-8 engine applications. Your generator was likely manufactured on December 12, 1957 for installation in a 1958 Chevrolet or GMC truck equipped with 283 engine. It's also possible that it was a SERVICE generator built on December 12, 1967.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C1 Generator Origin
Back in 1973, when I went to order a generator for my '62, the 1102096 is what the parts store gave me. The 096 might have been the service replacement generator for many applications. The generator seems relatively common. I see it a lot on Ebay and at swap meets.
It'll work on a C1, provided you change the fan/pulley. It's not too glaringly wrong. It's a solid mount. The mounting holes in the end plates do not take the rubbermounts. I believe it's 30 amps, so the also common 003 volatage regulator will work.- Top
