Where can I get the steel bracket that supports the factory am/fm radio in a 68-76 Corvette? This bracket goes from a stud in the pass side of the radio, to a steel clip that is revited to the top of the trans tunnel. The radio end is held on with a nut, the tunnel end is held on by a Tinnerman clip, with a hex head screw. If someone has one, can you please measure it for me so I can make one? I need length, width, and material thickness. This is all I need to complete the installation.

This bracket, GM #3921416, is GM-discontinued. However, it's VERY easy to fabricate a functional replacement. The bracket is a rectangular piece of steel which is 5/8" wide and 3-9/16" long. The 9/32" holes on either end are spaced 2-13/16" apart. The material is about 1/16" thick, but thicker material could be used.

By the way, there is also a longitudinal reinforcing "rib" that is stamped into the bracket which is about 1-7/8" long. However, this rib will be hard to duplicate. If you use thicker stock to make the bracket, the reinforcing rib will be unnecessary. No one will ever see the bracket with the console forward side covers installed.

This "rib" can be duplicated in a large vise. Place a piece of wood on one side of the bracket, and a small dia. piece of round stock on the other side, and place the whole thing in the vise. Squeeze tight, and the "rib" will appear!

I was originally under the impression that the through holes in this part were different sizes.

OK, I've dug it out again and taken some precise dimensions unaffected by late evening carelessness and drowsiness.

The bracket is exactly 3-5/8" long and 5/8" wide. The center reinforcing rib is 2-1/16" long by 7/32" wide.

The holes are 2-7/8" center-to-center. However one hole is an "elongated" hole with rounded ends which is 7/16" long and 7/32" wide. This hole is centered 1/2" from its end of the bracket.

The other hole is a round hole of 11/32" OD. This hole is centered 1/4" from its end of the bracket.

On the rear side of the bracket is the stamping "LTC".

Thanks again Joe, it is greatly appreciated. The elongated hole must be what I remembered as the holes being two different sizes. Simple fabrication job.
