    Driveline

Just received my March-April Driveline yesterday the 29th. There is a change for Cdn members. It looks like it is now shipped to a bulk mailer in St Catharines, Ontario(just 30 miles from me), and no longer comes in an envelope, or with dated postage mark.

The envelopes used to get rather beat up from time to time. Now my Driveline can take the beating directly.

Another neat thing is that it appears that the Regional Director who lives about 80 miles from me, gets his at least two weeks prior. He mailed me a photocopy of the voting ballot(with SASE) from the back cover about a week and a half ago so I could show my support.

I've encountered these bulk Canadian mailers before with Hemmings Motor News and others and have thus far found it a healthy step back as far as benefit to me. They all have arrived much later since the change. Therfore the benefits must be at the sending end.

I've paid my dues faithfully for 25 years. Ocaisionally asking if some sort of Lifetime Membership could be paid. Only to fall on deaf ears. I hope someone's listening now. Old news is really only useful in History class.

    Where's the envelope?

Got mine yesterday also...without an envelope. This one is in good shape luckily, but I know that it is just a matter of time before one arrives tattered and torn. I recently cancelled a magazine subscription because they stopped putting the mag in a plastic bag and I was tired of receiveing the magazine cover separately from the magazine. Let's hope this was a one-off occurence and not a permanent change. Mark

      Re: Driveline mailings

Dan, that's good news to hear that they're bulk mailing the Canadian-destined Drivelines from St.Catherines, Ont. Now if the dog team (a.k.a. Canada Post) can get it to me out here in Calgary in the next 2 weeks, I'll feel that the extra $ 15 US (that we Canadians pay on our NCRS dues for postage) was worth it.

Don't complain too loudly. I live in the US of A and we have snail mail. I haven't received mine yet. Do you think I should write to the main office and see what's going on here?

My Driveline arrived in good shape here in London on the 30th , the new format looks better and works well too.
