C3 Weather Stripping

My 76 is in desparate need of some new weather stripping. I think I am about ready to undertake this project. I am currently gathering research for this task. I just wanted to get some input about how difficult this may be. I can imagine the hardest part is removing the old stuff. I was also curious as to what kind of tips anyone else may have from their experiences, when replacing weather stripping. I have looked at some old posts. How difficult should this be, for one person with limited skills and knowledge?

I have found some materials from Mid-America. I would like to keep the car as close to numbers matching as possible, which it is now. I have seen some recommendations for Corvette Rubber and GM. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

It's a fun project if you like working on your Vette! Get a good quality kit and get a weather strip removal set of tools. I believe it's a set of three (come to think of it...I'll have to hunt mine down). They are immense help with cleaning out old material.

You will need tools, adhesive cleaner, adhesive and new weather stripping. It's at least a day's job and could easily stretch into a full weekend depending on the ease with which the old stuff comes off. But you have got to get the old stuff off and this takes some effort.

Can you do it yourself...yes! The end result is a tremendous sense of accomplishment, tight fit, sound proofing and water leak elmination.
