Think you'll find that late, means REAL LATE. Like the last few weeks of '71 production....

Re: 1971 Front Turn Signal Lenses
Jack,
I've looked that far. Remember, my car was 19518 out of 21801, and I have seen cars made in July (71 production ended then) at about the 21000 range. So, I may have missed the last 800 or less. All that's left is a few production days, not weeks.
AND the books say "One visible clue to a 1971's outward asppearance was amber parking light lenses, although very early production had clear lenses." [From The Genuine Corvette Black Book, 1953-1996]
In contrast "Front 1970-71 parking lamps use clear plastic lenses with amber bulbs. All 1972 Corvettes use amber colored lenses." [1970-1972 Corvette Judging Manual]
I just plain think that a lot of the "popular" Corvette literature is wrong. At least Terry got it right in the NCRS book.
