what finish is on the harmonic case pulley on 66 390 a/c?

The crankshaft pulley used for your application was a cast iron pulley of GM #3863108. It was painted a low gloss black, very close to flat black.

Joe - I don't know if the originals were different, but I have purchased two of these from GM, one, in 1989, and one, in the past few months. Both seem to be a black phosphate plating and not paint. I don't know if this differs from the process on the originals, but seems to be the way GM has done it for the past 14 years or so....Craig
