Looking for the GM paint code (or other mfg's #) for the paint on the 1964 knock off wheels - inside fin area. Tried the search of archives, however many returns had nothing to do with subject, so I'm trying a posting. Thanks!

Re: KO wheel paint
Alan, You may remember Dave Cosner who was the top restorer of knockoffs and bolt-ons through the 1980's and '90's. He sold pint cans of the correct paint for do-it-yourselfers. I have a can that is labeled with his telephone number in Bedford, Indiana. It's (812)279-4973. I haven't seen his ads in a long time but he may help you. Good luck, Jim Weeks - Member #2978- Top

Re: KO wheel paint
There HAVE been a few posts that are spinning on disk in the archieves with the 'correct factory orignal' formula for KO center spoke paint, but it takes the time/effort to search.... The Long Island catalog lists a shake 'n spray can for the job that I believe gives results acceptable to most NCRS judges....- Top

Re: KO wheel paint
Alan:
The 1963-'64 knockoffs were unpainted (natural cast aluminum), while the '65-'66 were "Argent Grey". Long Island Corvette Supply sells a wheel paint in spray cans, which I used on my '65 KO's, with excellent results.
