SHP 327 Pulley ID help for 1965

Does this pulley on ebay look right? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1868177885 ?

My exiting pulley 3770245CC has an bit of a wobble and I am looking to replace it.

I purchased a GM replacement but I'm disappointed with the sloppy a.k.a BUBBA welds.

    Thanks

Joe, I just checked my SHP 65 and mine does not look like the one on ebaby.
My question to you is----how does it look compared to the 2 that you have?

      Jim-----

The eBay pulley looks like a GM #3770245 to me. Of course, there is no way to tell from the picture when it was manufactured, so it could suffer from the same sort of deficiencies that you experienced with the replacement pulley you purchased. To be honest, though, I have several GM new examples of this pulley [none for sale] and I have observed quite a few others. I don't see any problem with the quality of the manufacturing of any.

The GM #3770245 often does not have a part number stamped on it. Originals may have been phosphate-finished or painted semi-gloss black. I believe that all of the replacements that I've seen have been painted semi-gloss black.

        Hey Art,
The two I have are the same. Like the one on ebay mine have the same rounded nose. Unlike the ebay photo; the first groove wall is a seperate stamping welded to the nose around the perimeter; there is no seem on the back groove wall; the is a part number stamping on the nose perimeter followed by CC.

I put two pics on my Yahoo pics site in FS Parts folder (with red background).Check it out here...

Jim - this Ebay pulley looks just like two examples of 65-66 big block 480 pulleys I have....construction and all. The SB pulley you reference looks very similar, but, I noted both in Carlisle at Paul Baker, the pulley kings display. The SB ones had the complete crimp section like yours versus the 2 welds. I am not sure the offset is the same either, or the OD. This stuff is very hard to tell with these particulars are left out of the description unless the number is stamped on the part directly....Craig

It looks just like my 3 piece 65 396 pully in the picture. Bill

Bill - I thought the same, then compared the pix of my two 65/66 BB pulleys next to the Ebay pulley, and the rake or angle of the cone looks sharper and less flat, indicating a smaller diameter or offset difference. I will forward my photos to you...Craig
