Torque of rear susp. components

I recently had the trailing arms rebuilt by Bairs. In the time the trailing arms were gone, I also refinished several of the other components, leaf spring, strut rods, new u-joints, etc. I plan to begin putting it all together within the next couple weeks.

I have seen a couple posts that mention some of the suspension components should be torqued to spec once it is sitting with weight on the wheels. What components should be torqued with the vehicle weight on it.? Is this all specified in the shop manuals?

The following fastners MUST be torqued to spec with the weight of the car on the suspension:

1) trailing arm forward bolts/nuts;

2) strut rod inner and outer nuts;

The spring center plate bolts should be tightened with the spring de-arched. I recommend final torquing to spec with the weight of the car on the suspension and the suspension normalized. I also recommend checking the torque of the shock lower mount nuts at this time, too.

All of the toque specs for the rear suspension can be found in the Chevrolet Service Manual and the AIM for the particular year model.
