I got a chuckle out of your post on the "CHEAPO 65". My coupe fits your description to a tee. It's now my driver after being flight judged for a couple years. I have tried to search back it's ownership but came against brick walls (owners that would not respond.) I just wanted to ask the original owner why he was "SO CHEAP" when he ordered a new vette!

Patrick, Gene, et al: Beat this... a new '75 convertible, bright yellow on saddle vinyl, with a black soft-top, at Park Avenue Chev in Montreal Quebec, (I've got photos of car and window sticker) with only 2 extra cost options -- U05 dual horns and U58 stereo radio.

Great for the owner who wants to make a sound impression.

Who orders these cars anyway; is it the local sales manager with a dart board, or does GM build a variety then ship them out to the larger dealers on a quota basis ?

Patrick, there were two made, 8 years ago I saw an original 32,000mi '65 Red/Red interior, white convertible top, 250hp, 3spd, with disc brake delete for sale for $16,000-but the frame was Swiss cheese-still was a unique and restorable "rare" car. Don't ever know of what had happened to it though!!!

Sticky Steering Wheel

My '69 roadster has what I believe to be a typical problem. The original steering wheel is unusually sticky. It seems that the material is breaking down or producing a residue that results in this condition. Does anyone know of a successful method of cleaning or must it be replaced? If replaced, is there a recommended source for original replacement? I have seen a few advertised in the Driveline.
