    Thanks. I tried the light on the coil wire. I only got a very faint light. I also followed all the plug wires from cap to plug. They hadn't changed.

    I'll likely work on it in a day or two. The car is cursed anyway, as EVERY piece of it has worked like this. Fix one thing, three things fail. It makes me appreciate the fact that my own 71 never pulls this kind of thing.

      i have not read all the posts but i would bypass the balast resistor. the high voltage wire from the center of the coil should jump to ground 1/2 to 3/4 inch to ground and if it does not jump that far you have low voltage. i have also seen new points that were bad out of the box.
